SPOT Rehabilitation and Home Health Care provides Occupational Therapy to assist people living with mild cognitive impairment and dementia. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate a person’s current functional cognitive level. This standardized assessment gives a score that relates defines areas of capability and areas where a person may need supervision or assistance. Areas addressed include money management, medication set up, medication administration, use of heat and sharp objects, bathing, self cares and cognition necessary for safe driving. SPOT does not provide behind-the-wheel assessment. The OT will provide individual feedback and recommendations for modifying activities in order for one to continue to function in the most safe and independent manner possible. OT is focused on one’s abilities. Care partners and family members will receive education, support and collaboration along the dementia journey.
